Our Memories in Toledo

Good Morning Toledo!

Every morning we are awaken by the sounds of the families of geese, which surprisingly brings me peace in the morning. Another family member who loves them as much as I do is Marli but for the wrong reasons. She thinks that because she has a stuffed goose that the real ones are for her playing pleasure as well. No worries.. I won't allow that to happen.

Good morning babies..quack quack

Mommas are on the lookout

It's time to skedaddle..Marli is ready to play!

In the upcoming weeks, we have a laundry list of things to get done.  Most importantly-I have to teach Olivia how to go up and down the stairs. My technique is sit and scoot. Thankfully, she's a fast learner and had it down in a days time. Pheww.. I'm a happy mommy.

Next on our list is the removal of the broken mirror in the salon.  That was an interesting task. Electrical work and Joseph do not mix well since he still manages to get zapped every time.  Luckily it's nothing serious because I always have to laugh and he gets so upset but I can't control it. Sorry babe.

Poof!

Oh BOY..this is going to be fun!

Our davit to the rescue.

TADA..we managed to keep it in one piece. Thanks for the help Chad. The next challenge is to get it over to the dumpster..in a dock cart! As you can see, we keep it interesting at all times. We make it over to the dumpster and our savior (Regan) arrives and his facial expression was priceless! He can't believe what we just did, and he doesn't want to have 7 years bad luck so he called his men to come and pick it up with one of the trucks. Thanks again Mr. Smith..you're the best!

Shopping.. replacing the original coffee and end tables because of the glass tops. Olivia has already scared us several times in just the few days on the boat. So, that's a good enough reason to go shopping, right?  Yup! I must say that Toledo has the nicest, most helpful and cheerful people in the country!  I love this place. I wish everyone would be this happy, then maybe this country would be a happier place to live in. With that said, I wonder what makes all these Ohioans so happy. Any ideas?  Also, Joseph and I love the stores too..Menards and Meijer (pronounced Meyers) for us out of towners. They kick Super Walmarts' butt!

We also found our favorite restaurant. El Vaquero- they have the BEST guacamole and they make it fresh at the table from a true spanish woman. It doesn't get more authentic than that. And proof that the guac is the best is that none of us except for Joseph liked guacamole before this was made for us and now we are a family in love with the creamy yumminess.

Nanie loved it so much she's going to lick the bowl clean.

And, Olivia is so hungry she's eating the car keys
Not so yummy

Boo wanted in on the goodness too

The girls are doing their job well- tormenting their big brother..haha

What do you think Livies' little mind is thinking? My thought is- what is wrong with them kids?!

And to complete the great service, we had an amazing waitress- Melissa.  Thank you! The menu  selection is very large and luckily Melissa was extremely patient and informative. She suggested her favorite meals and she was spot on.  Our meals were delicious and quantities were enormous. This restaurant is a MUST!!

This is our favorite bridge..love the colorfulness.

Now back at the marina, I have been trying to figure out what the building is that is in front of us.  Can anyone help me out because I can't find any information about it online..Surprising huh? It has military faces carved in the facade. (This picture is a side view)

On our port side we have the Coast Guard. It was nice seeing the structure that the C.G has, so I am hoping that it will rub off on the kids because they seemed to be quite interested in what they do.  The Coast Guard also had some sort of summer training for school kids.  The children that attended the program were put to work by doing drills and standing at attention when being spoken to.  I would love for our kids to be that attentive.. can I send them to C.G. bootcamp since they think we are too strict ??

Now, here are just a few family pictures that I liked and wanted to share.

You gotta love the "everybody smile" picture that never turns out right.

I don't know how Christopher does it..he can sleep anywhere!

 Livie is enjoying the view

Mommy has the best view..

Nanie is getting her groove on

and finally, happy kids make happy parents
